On the 9th July, the streets of Central London will be awash with runners celebrating all things British in the Virgin Sport British 10k. The hugely popular annual race will weave its way through the very heart of the capital taking runners down the Embankment and past the likes of Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Westminster Abbey. For those looking for a new summer wardrobe, the unique race also takes you along Regent street past some of the best shops in London.
Never run before? Don’t worry. The Virgin Sport 10km is the perfect place to start, here’s why:
- It is a flat course, so ideal for first timers.
- Our focus is to create a fun event for everyone to partake in, so if you want to walk, jog, run or even sprint to the finish line we will be there to support and entertain you every step of the way.
- The route is also a perfect way to take a unique traffic free tour of many of London’s famous landmarks taking in Big Ben, The London Eye and The Houses of Parliament to name just a few.
- You don’t even have to run! Just come and be one of our fantastic “Spect-atheletes”and whoop, cheer and sing the runners along as they go.
Route entertainment will also include Brit themed tribute bands such as Not The Rolling Stones and Vox Beatles, along with appearances from the Royal Air Force Cadets and the British Military Brass Band.
