The Angling Trust is delighted to announce that the prize money for RiverFest 2019 is going up!
Subject to ticket sales, an additional £7,000 will be in the prize pot, which will grow the total potential pool to almost £50,000. The winner of the final in November will now walk away with a cool £14,000 plus the coveted trophy!
The second prize will be increased to £7,000, third to £5,000, fourth to £3,000 and fifth to £2,000. The remaining five prizes will also be increased down to the 10th placed angler who will receive £1,500. Section prizes of £250 every six anglers will remain and will be paid for each day of the final, outside the top 10.
In order to achieve the greater prize pool, a small increase of £5 on the ticket prices will be applied. “We’ve said from the outset of this competition back in 2013 that we wanted to keep raising the bar and 2019 will see the number one river fishing competition get even bigger,” said competition creator and Angling Trust Ambassador Dave Harrell. “I’ve been working closely with James Lewis from the Angling Trust and in my opinion, the venue line up for 2019 is the best yet. I’m really looking forward to it getting underway again in June and seeing who makes it through to the big money final in November. “
Ticket launch for Round 1 will be open 10:30 on Monday 18th March and run until Monday 1st April. In Round 1 anglers will be able to book a single ticket.
Round 2 opens on Monday 8th April 10:30, where all tickets will be accessible until the Wednesday before the qualifier at 15:30.
All competing anglers must be an Angling Trust member and tickets for all the qualifiers can be booked through the Online Booking System
The final will take place on the River Severn at Shrewsbury over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd November and three reserve weekends have been booked in case of high water.
