Siobhan-Marie O’Connor and Adam Peaty added silvers on the penultimate day of the LEN European Short Course Championships in Israel to take the GBR total to nine medals so far.
O’Connor continued her medal run with silver in the 200m Individual Medley. She swam a new British standard of 2:05.13 to finish behind double world champion Katinka Hosszu (HUN) and ahead of Louise Hansson (SWE).
Triple world champion Peaty swam to his second silver of the competition after being touched out by Germany’s Marco Koch in the 100m Breaststroke. Peaty, who has been nominated for the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award for the second year running, added the medal to the silver he took in the 50m Breaststroke. Lithuania’s Giedrius Titenis finished third.
Liam Tancock finished second in his semi-final to secure his place in tomorrow’s final of 100m Individual Medley. After her medal, O’Connor returned to the pool to reach the final of the 100m Butterfly.
