THE Nation’s leading breakfast cereal Weetabix* is inviting everyone to get involved this summer through their latest campaign Summer of Sport, which will see every customer receive a free sports session and the chance to collect a top tier sporting reward.
Throughout July and August, over 15 million special promotional packs, across the entire Weetabix range, will be available in stores to inspire all ages and abilities to get active to celebrate 2016’s summer filled with sport.
Every marked promotional pack will include an instant win code for customers to enter online where it will be revealed if they’ve secured a fantastic, top tier sporting reward. These include a range of ‘money can’t buy experiences’ such as training sessions with great athletes (including former heptathlete Denise Lewis OBE), or products such as a family bike set, team sports kits and five-year gym memberships if lucky winners fancy a longer-term reward.
As well as top tier rewards, only redeemable with certain codes, Weetabix are giving customers a free or 2-4-1 sports session with every single promotional pack, so if you fancy yourself as a dancer this summer Weetabix has it covered. There is a choice of a variety of sports activities including football, dancing, Tae Kwon-do, paintballing and scuba diving.
In addition to the gifting for all customers, Weetabix has enlisted a number of sporting legends to take on athletic challenges and share their own unique #sportingstarts with the nation. Over the summer, former Heptathlete Denise Lewis OBE, footballing legend John Barnes and Wales international Rugby star George North will all be taking on exciting sporting challenges to push them outside of their comfort zones; powered by the nutritionally balanced, natural goodness of Weetabix.
With the help of these sporting legends, alongside the exciting promotion, ‘Summer of Sport’ intends to encourage and inspire the great British public to get up, get active and join in.
Denise Lewis, heptahlete and OBE, commented: “I’m very excited to be involved in this campaign, and with my background in sport I have a huge passion for nutrition and exercise. I have been presented with the challenging opportunity of learning women’s cricket…something I only played in the garden as a child, so this could be a very interesting experience for myself and somewhat comical for those watching!”
Victoria Westwood, Senior Brand Manager at Weetabix, said: “I’m hugely excited about our Summer of Sport campaign which demonstrates our great Weetabix nutrition through getting the nation active. We hope the new campaign helps to highlight the importance of a proper breakfast as well as staying active; and with the help of some well-known sports stars we will be inspiring Britain to do just that!
“A bowl of Weetabix in the morning helps with stamina, muscle building and bone strength for all the family. This, coupled with our on-pack promotion giving away free sports sessions throughout July and August, means there’s no excuse to stay on the sofa this summer! Our exciting promotion will run across the entire Weetabix family, so look out for it on the shelves and get involved.”
The Weetabix Summer of Sport campaign kicked off in July, with promotional packs running across Weetabix’s entire family including 12’s, 24’s, 36’s, 72’s, and also Minis, Protein Crunch and Oatibix.
