England Squash is celebrating a resounding success with over 40 new Squash Leaders trained as part of our Public Facility Workforce programme in November .
We have run a training day at four different venues: Epping Sports Centre, Olympian Leisure Centre, Didcot Leisure Centre and Polyzath Leisure Centre.
The aim of the sessions is to provide training to public facility staff on how to increase squash participation in their leisure centres by increasing knowledge, understanding and enthusiasm for the sport. In addition to this, staff have been educated on how to increase revenue through squash.
The new Squash Leaders have been challenged to organise and deliver fun informal play sessions in January with support from their England Squash Participation Manager. In addition they have been tasked with offering a new competitive squash opportunity. To help them with this, the squash leaders have been provided with online tools to administer box leagues and tournaments, as well as information on our new innovative participation programme
We will also be offering ongoing support to a number of leaders who have expressed a desire to now become a Level 1 squash coach.
If you would like some more information on how to set up some public facility training in your area then please contact your local Participation Manager.
