he Largest running water competition is primed to open entries once more on Monday April 6th at 10.30am. In these unprecedented times this has not been a decision that has been taken lightly, but we believe it’s our best solution in the current climate. Covid-19 casts uncertainty around all our fishing in the coming months and rest assured we are making considerations should postponements become necessary.
An alteration to ticket sales is something that we also considered, but to keep the competition aligned with previous years and to a format which has been widely received as the best out there, we are going to keep the launch date and time. Monday 6th April 10.30am at www.anglingtrustevents.net.
Our booking site is capable of hosting the upcoming traffic and although internet connections are strained, we foresee plenty of opportunity for anglers to buy tickets. For any anglers having difficulty with the site or connection at this time, please call us on 0115 822 4519 or 0115 822 4573 and we’ll do all we can to get you booked on.
Jamie Cook Chief Executive Officer of the Angling Trust commented: “We’re delighted to see river anglers supporting RiverFest in these challenging times and I thank competition anglers for their support. In order to ensure that RiverFest can take place, we will continue to work with Government to ensure that safety advice is followed and that when we are able to fish again, there is a vibrant competition”.
The Angling Trust will continue to carefully monitor the ongoing situation and follow Government advice. We wish you all the best of health in these unprecedented times and hope we can all get back on the bank as soon as possible!
