Damon Heta will brave a midnight alarm-call to compete in the Unibet Home Tour on Sunday from Australia, as the home-broadcast event reaches new shores.
Reigning Brisbane Darts Masters champion Heta returned home to Perth in March alongside fellow Australian Kyle Anderson, having made his World Championship debut and won a PDC Tour Card during a successful opening stint in the UK.
Heta plans to return to the UK full-time once worldwide restrictions ease, but has returned to his former profession of roofing in the short-term.
However, he will be back in competitive darting action on Sunday night alongside John Henderson, Gary Blades and Krzysztof Kciuk in Group 17 of the Unibet Home Tour.
That means a midnight alarm call ahead of starting play at 0230 local time (1930 BST) – matching Hong Kong’s Kai Fan Leung in aiming for a successful 5am finish on his Australian Monday morning.
“I’ve never played during the night before so it’s going to be different for me but I’m looking forward to it,” said Heta. “I’m preparing right and I can’t wait.
